Cameron Grant: Donations and Memorials

Kris and Cam never failed to show generosity, hospitality, and love to their friends. Many of their friends have asked how they can help, and here's a list of charities or causes that you may wish to donate to in Cameron's memory:

Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital or the Royal Brompton Hospital
Both organizations assisted Cameron significantly.
A rat rescue charity, the RSPCA or your local animal rescue.
Animals, particularly Cam and Kris's pet rats, made a big difference to the quality of his life, and Cameron always loved them.
The Muscular Dystrophy Organization
While the diagnosis might not have been correct, Cameron believed from the age of 13 that he had two forms of MD. This organization provides assistance, equipment, and information to people with MD.
The FreeBSD project
Some of you may know that Cameron was a FreeBSD committer, and completely rewrote the sound system and created newpcm for the FreeBSD 4 kernel. He thought a lot of FreeBSD, and save the desktop computer, which ran Windows for accessibility reasons, everything else in the house he could get at ran freeBSD exclusively.

Kris herself
All of Cam and Kris's income came through his care plan, and Kris was employed twenty-four hours a day as Cam's caregiver. That was the fund that covered their house payments, bought their food, and took care of their daily needs. Kris says that she feels strange being on that list, but she's trying to think as Cam would, and that would've been his wish.   People sending donations by credit card should also send an email to John Dow, Kris's father, at john at johntdow dot com telling him that it's a memorial for Cameron, since he also gets work transactions on that site.
